Role & Experience
Callie McDougald serves as Nugen Law’s Elder Care Coordinator, bringing more than a decade of experience across the post‑acute continuum of care. With a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and Gerontology from Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne, Callie bridges healthcare insight with estate planning, asset protection, and Medicaid planning. She supports attorneys and paralegals by coordinating client onboarding, organizing medical and financial information that informs planning, and aligning care considerations with legal next steps so families receive practical, timely guidance.
How She Helps Clients
Families rely on Callie to make complex decisions feel manageable, especially around long‑term care and benefits eligibility. She listens carefully, translates healthcare terminology into clear action, and outlines what to expect at each stage of planning or administration. Callie helps clients prepare for meetings, gather key records for Medicaid applications and asset‑protection strategies, and coordinate with providers and community resources when appropriate. Her steady style reduces stress, keeps matters on track, and ensures that the documents the firm prepares reflect each client’s goals and care realities.
Community & Background
Born and raised in Auburn, Indiana, Callie has deep local roots and an enduring commitment to service. She is an active member of the Auburn Noon Lions Club and has served on multiple nonprofit boards, strengthening relationships that benefit older adults and families navigating estate planning, asset protection, and Medicaid options. That community perspective, combined with her healthcare training, gives Callie a balanced, real‑world approach to client service.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Callie enjoys travel, gardening, and cheering for Purdue. She and her husband, Jake, share a love of classic cars and chose the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum as the place to begin their married life. Their two energetic sons keep them busy, curious, and always ready for the next adventure.
What This Means for Clients
Clients working with Callie can expect clear communication, coordinated next steps, and a thoughtful connection between care needs and legal planning. Her experience in post‑acute settings and her coordination on asset protection and Medicaid planning help Nugen Law deliver elder law services that are compassionate, practical, and responsive to each family’s priorities.
